Seth Anderson is a folk musician with east coast roots and a passion for adventure. Blending elements of folk rock with alternative country and the spirit of punk passion, he is most recognized for his high energy performances, and catchy, truth laden, heart driven lyrics; strongly connected to the community and surroundings of his Rocky Mountain home of the last decade, Canmore, Alberta.
Previously independently releasing three full-length albums, he has upwards of ten years of road experience, including multiple cross country tours, and performances in the UK. Seth joined Joey Cape’s (Lagwagon, Me First and the Gimme Gimme’s) One Week Records roster based in San Francisco to reveal his fourth full-length effort, which was released in June 2016. The last year has brought opportunities to share the stage with Joey Cape, Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Dave Hause, and Northcote.
Seth Anderson has released a single “24” from the album and is accompanied by a video, he says about the following about the video:
“’24’ was shot, directed, and edited by Beau Evans, with additional cinematography by Kelly Schovanek in Canmore, Alberta and surrounding areas. Lyrically, this song is about working through the challenges that life presents to us, and choosing to take the opportunity to grow and learn from these experiences. We wanted the video to be light hearted and invoke feelings of hope. The opening shot takes place at a local art/punk house that so many have called home in some shape or form over the years. This cultural monument, also known to locals as ‘Baryard’, represents the youthful intuitiveness and energy that is attached to the community that in many ways was an inspiration in the writing of this song.”
2017 will also see tour dates through North America and Europe. In support of these dates UK based Little Rocket Records are releasing a vinyl version of the One Week Record, which will be a limited edition of 300 in white with a black haze.
“I love this record. Seth has an old soul. His songs are beautiful and personal. His lyrics are transparent and easily identifiable. His songs will make you move and make you weep. I’m so proud to have been a part of his One Week Record.”
