Panic State Records celebrate their 7th Anniversary with headliners, Ska/punk legends, CATCH 22 on January 23rd at the Starland Ballroom in Jersey. CATCH 22 will be celebrating their 20th anniversary performing Alone in a Crowd with their original vocalist Jeff Davidson!
As pioneers of the ska/punk scene, CATCH 22, who are celebrating 20 YEARS in 2016, have built a reputation for energetic live shows and musical innovation. The band formed in the Fall of 1996 in East Brunswick, NJ when founding members Chris Greer, Ryan Eldred and Kevin Gunther set out to play a genre of music that quickly became a huge national trend. Over 300,000 album sales later, CATCH 22 are still one of the most consistent live bands on the road today, filling venues worldwide and helping launch the careers of many others.
Among the bands they have invited out as supporting acts are: Sum 41, Thursday and Taking Back Sunday to name a few. They have also shared the stage with Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, The Suicide Machines and countless others. After 15+ years on the road, CATCH 22 took a brief hiatus but they have returned to the scene with full force.
After 2 short tours in 2015, making their way up to Amnesia Rock Fest in Montebello, Canada, they have teamed up with New Jersey’s very own, Panic State Records. Chris Greer – founding member of CATCH 22 says about this new relationship, “Panic State is a group of real dudes who have music genetically encoded in their souls. Mix that with a love of vinyl and you get a FAMILY….which is what PSR is and always will be. From a co-owner and a musician, I can’t think of a better place for CATCH 22 to call home.” CATCH 22 have plans for more music and shows in 2016 so stay tuned for what’s next!
This special event will also showcase a 10 year reunion between The Youth Ahead. The band shows excitement by promoting and sharing this event all over their social media. This is definitely not something to be missed. Another legend, With The Punches, are back for a reunion show as well. This show is guaranteed to be filled with tears, and lots of booze-infused melted faces.
Canadian Pop Punkers, We Were Sharks also will be joining this lineup having just joined the label not too long ago. They released a new EP Not a Chance on Panic State last month and have a Canadian tour coming up with Harbour.
