Hailing from Stolkhom, Sweden, Dirty Loops have embarked on a worldwide tour and hit Montreal on October 23rd thanks to Evenko and Greenland Productions. Pop Fusion band was in Montreal last for the yearly Jazz Fest in July. What will they bring to us next?
Every so often a group appears that seems to defy definition, with a unique approach to music that leaves the confused audience asking “What did I just see?” That’s exactly the reaction you can expect from Sweden’s best-kept secret, Dirty Loops, and their first album “Loopified”. Three long-time friends, Jonah Nilsson, Henrik Linder and Aron Mellegardh, have fun hijacking pop hits into inventive covers, like with Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance”, which generated tons of buzz. “Hit Me”, the first original title on their album, has been a huge hit in Japan this year. Fate or coincidence, they will play the Club on 16 July at the very moment their idol Stevie Wonder is making history in the Stravinski. Take Quincy Jones’ word for it: “the Dirty Loops are really incredible!”
