The performance featured clothing by local designer Hayley Elsaesser (Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus). A promotional video, released last week to promote the event, features lovable Toronto internet sensation Dart Guy, put in contact with the band through the Toronto-based online bartering group Bunz Helping Zone.
This grassroots operation was brought about through a partnership of ambitious and like-minded local businesses using their combined resources to create new and innovative ways to promote their brands.
Ginger Ale & The Monowhales’ performance featured two new songs from the band. An individual video of the performance of their new song “Real Love”, released the day after the live stream, has since been viewed over 100,000 times.
Their latest EP Bang (released in 2016) featured the smash-hit single “Home”, the video for which was released exclusively on Facebook and reached over 311,000 views. The song has also been featured on Edge 102, Indie88, CBC Radio, charted on Earshot’s Top 50, and has been streamed over 120,000 times on Spotify.
