British power-punk rocker, now residing in Canada, Kieran Strange, will be playing at Bar L’Escogriffe in Montreal on September 22nd! Kieran Strange is a powerhouse rock chic well on her way to becoming an iconic role-model for individuality; as her music and personal passion addresses themes such as discrimination, equality, and daring to be different. Strange made her mark with single, “Tear Down The Wall,” co-written by Amy Fox, producer of the new Canadian LGBT sitcom, The Switch.
Strange’s individuality dominates her sophomore EP, Last Hero Standing, which is to be released this Fall. The 4-track EP features some personal struggles Strange has faced, from mocking “Reckless” that calls out bullying, to love anthem “Teeth” that evokes the all-too-familiar feeling of rejection when in love with someone your family or society doesn’t want you to be with. The EP also comes with a comic-book written and drawn by Strange that tells the story of a girl overcoming struggle, discrimination, and issues of privilege in her life.
Kieran Strange’s current tour is presented by Equalize, a foundation that educates young music fans about acceptance for everyone, no matter who they love or how they identify, and gives youth the tools to enact positive changes in their own communities.
