Luke Sital-Singh Debuts AA Side Title Track “Time Is A Riddle”; New LP “Time Is A Riddle” Available Now Via Dine Alone Records

UK singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh has released the AA side single “Time Is A Riddle”, the title track from his acclaimed new album which topped the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart on its release in May. The A side is the album version, recorded in Attica Audio Studio in Donegal with producer Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers). The AA side is the original home recording, an intimate and deeply moving rendition of the song that sparked Luke’s second album. Time Is A Riddle is out now on Dine Alone Records and available to order at this location.

It was in writing this song that I broke through a frustrating period of searching and struggling to find a vision for a second album,” says Luke of “Time Is A Riddle.” “In that sense it’s the defining song of the record as it enabled all the other songs to exist and gave me the little flicker of flame that I could work with and keep things moving. I wrote it on piano in my home studio and it felt right to record a version in there and release it. The song in its purest form recorded right where it was born.”

The album’s first single, “Killing Me”, premiered on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and is nearing an incredible 4 million streams on Spotify. “For better or worse I put everything of myself into this album,” says Luke. “I wanted every single second of it to be thought through and yet remain organic and instinctual. Which is perhaps an impossibility, but I think we got close and I couldn’t be prouder of it.”

Inspired by his love of traditional crafts and the Slow Movement, Luke has made a trilogy of ‘Slow Makers’ films, visiting the studios and workshops of crafts people he’s connected with up and down the country. Episode 1 features illustrator Hannah Cousins – who created the lino-print cover of Time Is A Riddle – and The Letterpress Collective in Bristol (watch here). Episode 2 involves Jono Smart, an acclaimed ceramicist based in Glasgow (watch below). Episode 3, featuring Ben Edmonds of Derby’s Blok Knives, will be premiered shortly.

With his friends Tom Heron and Paul Steel, Luke is responsible for the popular comedy podcast Idiot Check. Listen to the latest episode on iTunes.
