Montreal’s Po Lazarus Surprise With Release Of O Body EP

Montreal rock and rollers Po Lazarus, quick on the heels of their sophisticated and subtle 2016 debut album Ways to End the Night (Produced by Johnny Griffin of John Jacob Magistery), will release a new EP entitled O Body on April 19th. The lead single and first offering is a haunting and hard-hitting track titled “Body Luv.” With the help of Concordia University’s CJLO radio, the band recorded material that had accumulated over the hot summer months of 2016. The resulting EP is a sultry and sincere take on love and lust, recorded by visionary audio engineer Patrick McDowall (Hoan, Fleece, Smokes, Heathers). “We respect bands who continue to pursue their passion and consistently put out fresh, new songs,” explain core songwriters Josh Carey and Paul Mascarenhas. “When given the chance to record again, we jumped at the opportunity, and what we created is respectably rougher and louder than our previous endeavour.”

The band is celebrating the release with a live show at Quai Des Brumes on the same date, April 19th at 9PM. All proceeds will be benefitting the Yellow Door, a charity that aims “to empower young people to initiate and engage in community and creative projects that promote social inclusion, combat urban isolation across all generations, and spark positive societal change.
