Northcote, the moniker of Canadian songwriter Matt Goud, is doing an extensive Canadian headlining run in June. The tour, which includes a show in Montreal on June 19th at Divan Orange, is in support of Matt’s latest LP, Hope Is Made Of Steel, which was released in the fall of 2015 on Black Box in Canada. As one of the most important Canadian artists, Goud is one of the hardest working songwriters who tells concise, heartfelt, relevant stories, with a truly pan-Canadian perspective having resided in 6 Canadian cities in the last 6 years (Vancouver, Yellowknife, Regina, Victoria, Ottawa and currently Nanaimo).
Since the release of his self-titled sophomore album in 2013, which received widespread critical acclaim, Northcote has toured extensively across the globe, playing in over 14 countries, supporting the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, The Glorious Sons, Chuck Ragan, Twin Forks, Dave Hause and Against Me! To date, Northcote has released three full-length LP’s, a 7” and recently a digital single for the track “Your Rock and Roll,” which features a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Radio Nowhere” on the B-side.
