Record-Breaking Opening Weekend for Piknic Electronik’s 13th Season Draws 17,000 Visitors

The 13th season of Piknic Electronik has scored a record launch, drawing 17,000 visitors during its double-bill opening weekend on Sunday the 17th and Monday the 18th of May. Up until now, the attendance record for a single day at Piknic had previously peaked at 9,561.  But this past Sunday, more than 11,000 thrilled dancers made an appointment under the Calder at Parc Jean-Drapeau to celebrate the arrival of sunny days. A veritable “summer essential”, the Piknic is overjoyed that its double-bill opening weekend has become an incontestable tradition for all sorts of Montreal fun-seekers.

You don’t need to be a connoisseur of electronic music to come enjoy Piknic; a simply wonderful summer day is all you need on your agenda! And we’ll be back under the Calder every Sunday, until September 27th!

On the program this week: Leading bass music savants from the British label Hotflush Recordings! Label head Scuba brings along his latest star recruit, South London Ordnance. The Bleury Bar à Vinyle Family also joins the festivities with surprise guests.
