Thy Art Is Murder Announce North American Co-Headlining Tour w/ Decapitated

Australia’s premiere incendiary musical export Thy Art Is Murder, and Polish metal extremists Decapitated, will co-headline a North American tour together this August/September. Joining them are progressive death metal masters Fallujah and depressive black metal sensations Ghost Bath.

Comments Thy Art Is Murder guitarist Andy Marsh:
C.J. has returned, and so we shall return to North America’s shores once again. This time we are honored to announce we will be joined by an all Nuclear Blast lineup featuring death metal icons Decapitated, plus our friends in Fallujah and Ghost Bath.

These will be the only North American dates for us in 2017 and we plan on putting on our best dresses and bringing the best show we can to your shores!”

Thy Art Is Murder:
Rising from the unhallowed wastes of Western Sydney, Thy Art Is Murder successfully cleaved a trail of blood & mayhem since their inception in 2006. With the acclaimed Infinite Death EP (2008) and their debut album The Adversary (2010) firmly establishing their name in the global metal music scene, the band has traversed highways & autobahns all around the world, playing 342 tour dates alone in support of their Nuclear Blast Entertainment debut, Hate (2012), which debuted at #35 on the Top 40 Aria chart – the highest chart debut of any Australian extreme metal band.

Thy Art Is Murder’s latest album, Holy War, landed at #82 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of sales. This marks the first time Thy Art Is Murder has made the coveted chart. The band saw similar success in their homeland where they reached #7 on the Aria Charts – the highest position ever for an Australian extreme metal act.

Thy Art Is Murder, recently welcomed back vocalist C.J. McMahon back into the fold. The band revealed his return as a surprise onstage at their recent Unify Festival performance in Australia. Check out footage of the band performing “Holy War” at the event, here:

Formed in 1996, Polish technical death metal band Decapitated built a reputation over the years as one of the youngest leaders of their genre. In the past two decades, Decapitated has released five studio albums considered to be some of the most influential international death metal releases of the 21st century.

Demonstrating their technical prowess and emphasizing their inventive songwriting skills, Decapitated has earned the respect of their musical peers and have gained a devoted fan base. Scoring a perfect 10 review in Outburn Magazine and hailed as “death metal brutality with modern flare and flawless execution in a way that cements Decapitated’s position as extreme music royalty,” Fredrik Thordendal, guitarist for Sweden’s Meshuggah, summarized their most recent release Blood Mantra as “just brilliant.”

Decapitated will release their upcoming seventh album, Anticult, on July 7 via Nuclear Blast.
